Tam Hat Day 4

Hello Everyone,

I finished the Tam Hat today. It only took me 3 days working on it around 2 to 2 1/2 hours a day. I still have to block it and when I do that, I will take a picture of it on me!! The pattern called for 5 balls of 100g yarn. I used more of the purple as it was the main colour but I have so much left over that I think will have to make some gloves and mitts to go with the hat. Even felted mitts would be good as the yarn I used is 100% wool and it felts really well. That's it for today. Sandy

Tam Hat Day 3

Hello Everyone

Have been working on the Tam Hat and it is really coming along. I have started the decreases for the top of the hat so it should be pretty quick with the rest. Then it is sewing in all the ends. Most of the yarn has been carried up the inside but there are a few that I cut after finishing the green colour. The grey and cranberry look great together. Keep you posted.

Tam Hat Day 2

Hello Everyone:
I have been working on the Tam and am really pleased with the colours I chose. They have all come together and the grey has added a little bit of lightness to the pattern. I have chosen the Purple as the main colour and Cranberry as the secondary colour. The other three are Green Leaf, Grey, and Deep Olive Tweed and they seem to go together quite nicely. Guess we will see as I get further along with the pattern. Let me know what you think.

Tam Hat

Hi Everyone,
I am working on the Tam Hat using Patons Classic Wool leaf green and royal purple colours as the first two colours on the hat. These two colours are very attractive together. I really didn't think they would work. I am using a 16" number 4.5mm circular needle. With the increases the pattern calls for, it is getting quite tight and I will have to change to a longer circular soon. Here is the URL in PDF format for this hat. http://www.patonsyarns.com/blog/ClassicWool_Web_FairIsleTam.pdf
Anyway, let me know what you are working on.
Bye for now, Sandy.

Hello, Welcome to my Blog.

I am using this to communicate with everyone so that we can have some fund seeing projects people are knitting or crocheting. I received an e-mail from Patons this morning that had a free pattern for a fair isle hat that I thought was quite nice. I have decided that I will make it as it looks like it will be nice and warm for winter this year. It uses 5 colours so it can be made with really bright colours or suble colours. My choice is suble colours.

I am also working on an afghan, sorry no picture yet, but it is a work in progress that can be put down and picked up later.

Thank you for visiting my blog and please add your comments and what you are working on. Sandy
